Allie Beckwith romantically fuses the stillness of a painting with the motion of the atmosphere. Immersive work that makes you nostalgic for the time and place you're in. Right now. A reminder to unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders, and take a deep breath — or settle in and get comfy for a while.
Feeling passionate about how spaces feel, Allie considers lighting very important to the work. Being intentional about setting the stage for the desired energy is also important to the work.
Working in nature, in travel, on site, and from her seaside studio in New Brunswick, Canada, you can find Allie in the garden with her pets and partner Justin — often deep in thought, brainstorming an idea, or jotting down notes for future works. Ready for a chat any time to encourage you to go for it, and remind you why, in fact, you can.
Working in various painting mediums and methods depending on the vision and project, Allie often works within watercolour, gouache, acrylic, oil, and photography.
Allie is a professional visual artist & photographer whose creativity began in early childhood — building scenes and imagery from whatever she could find. Her first memory of orchestrated vision was directing her 7th grade classmates at recess into a pose featuring their matching his-and-hers Converse sneakers. The shot, taken from ground level, captured the Converse on tiptoe as though she were stepping in to share a kiss.
Officially starting her photography business in high school, the undeniable pull and passion to position people and spaces to look and feel their best drove her portfolio and experience to grow. She later became a 2015 graduate of NSCAD University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography.
Allie's work has been commissioned widely by interior designers, collectors, residential and commercial clients, and global brands including Golf Canada, McDonald's, Lululemon, Dyson, LG, Fairmont Hotels, and Vogue Magazine.
If the project is creative, she wants to weigh in.
