Happy Sunday guys!! I've been so excited to be able to share with you our experience at
in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. After a whirlwind work weekend in Halifax we could not wait to take off, head out of the city and wake up beside the ocean. Oceanstone Resort is about 40 minutes outside of Halifax and the absolute perfect, relaxing, getaway spot. I cannot tell you how beautiful this place is, it's truly magical.
We left the day that Ed Sherran's new album came out, the album played on repeat all weekend so imagine all those awesome dreamy songs playing in the background of all of this. lmao
We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were greeted with the most thoughtful gifts & notes. Waiting in our cottage was a seafood chowder, salad, and wine from the staff and chef at Rhubarb Restaurant. Along with the gifts was a notice that we had reservations for two at 6pm. -
Can I live here
?
We settled in, lit a fire, and it all aligned perfectly for the golden hour sunset. I'm not exaggerating when I say we ran down the stairs onto the beach to catch it. (
This cottage is located meters from the shoreline!!!
) It was incredible and kept getting prettier and prettier as the sun went down. I find that so interesting about sunsets, you think they can't get any more beautiful, but then even after the sun is down, the colors in the sky keep bursting and changing, getting brighter and brighter. I've been saying since I was younger that I wanted to live in a white beach house, filled with windows that face the sunset. This is literally my dream home.
The night before we arrived, Oceanstone hosted their Up Close and Coastal Experience featuring Christina Cambell. It's part of their series that they started in the fall, a unique experience with different artists over the months. The night is full of wine, food, and some great music. We were sad we missed the event but Oceanstone hosts different events throughout the seasons, we will be sure to book our next stay that aligns with one of those! To see the upcoming events, you can find them

Our reservations at
were right up the hill from our cottage. We walked up and into the cutest, homey, dim light dinner. Our server was so sweet and we learned a little bit of history of this special spot. They had local art all over the walls and the food was amazing. We started the night off with champagne cocktails and ended with pizza. It was perfect.
We finished our night off with some wine and cards by the fire. It felt like a summer night and literally could not have been cozier.
I LOVE THIS PLACE.
Mornings are something we take very seriously.
So seriously that sometimes they last until about 2pm.
We took our time waking up and really just enjoyed the view. We had sort of a mixture of breakfast and lunch in our cottage that included coffee and beer, lol.
Vacation, right?
We had the best day enjoying the cottage and exploring the beach and resort. The whole time we were thinking,
if this place can be so stunning in the middle of winter, imagggggineee it in the summertime.
Okay so I'm going to finish this off with what may have been my favourite part of the trip. When going through magazines by the couch, I found this journal. The journal dated back to 2001 and dozens of guests have written in it about their experience in
. Justin and I curled up on the couch and read them all, it was absolutely adorable and amazing how many more people found it just as magical as we did. Eeeee! We wrote in it on the last page, but you'll have to stay in Dovekey to find out what we wrote!!
Happy Sunday!
xx
